The South Africa National HIV Prevalence, Incidence, Behavior and Communication Survey is a national population-based survey conducted for surveillance of the HIV epidemic in South Africa. It was designed to investigate the overall HIV prevalence and incidence as well as HIV-related behaviour and health. It enables the measurement of trends and changes in the epidemic over time, and presentation of essential data for national indicator reporting.
