The Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) is a component of the Global Tobacco Surveillance System (GTSS) that has collected data on adult tobacco use and key tobacco control measures since its launch in February 2007. These surveys are nationally representative and have been implemented in more than 30 low- and middle-income countries with high burdens of tobacco use.
