Summary

The survey is part of the Gulf Family Health Survey (GFHS), a research program executed by the Council of Health Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States. The survey instruments consist of four questionnaires: household health status, household environmental conditions, reproductive health, and child health.  The first two questionnaires were successfully administered to 3,673 households. The reproductive health questionnaire was answered by 3,453 ever-married women under 50 years of age, while the child health questionnaire gathered information on 3,514 children under five years of age.

The survey covers topics such as living conditions, maternal care, tobacco use, child vaccinations, and various health indicators of morbidity. The report and tabulations may be available through the library system.
