This printed report, based on the Sample Registration System (SRS), provides estimates of birth, death, and infant mortality rates along with their standard errors for 1995-1999 for the country and major states. The report also contains below-state-level estimates of vital rates (based on three-year moving average), as well as their standard errors and confidence limits for 1995-1997, 1996-1998, and 1997-1999 for rural and urban areas.
