Summary 

This nationally representative survey was conducted as part of the Gulf Family Health Project. The sample was a two-stage stratified cluster sample of 4,550 households, based on the 1991 census. The sample is not strictly self-weighting. Of the total sample 4,166 Bahrani households were successfully interviewed. There were four questionnaires: household, household environmental conditions, reproductive health and child health. Health information in the survey is all self-reported; however, the survey did include child anthropometric measurements.
