The India Human Development Survey (IHDS) is a nationally representative survey of 41,554 households, 13,900 of which were interviewed in 1993-1994 in a previous survey by the National Council of Applied Economic Research, in India. Topics covered include health, education, employment, economic status, marriage, fertility, gender relations, and social capital. Village, school, and health facility interviews were also conducted as part of this survey, as well as anthropometric measurements of children under 5 and ages 8-11, and their mothers.

The Survey of National Demographic Dynamics (ENADID) provides information about the influences of fertility, mortality, migration, and socioeconomic factors on population dynamics. This survey includes questions on maternal and child health, family size and composition, marital status, family planning, and contraceptive choices. Fertility questions were directed to women between the ages of 15 and 54. The overall objective of the survey is to generate current and reliable statistical information related to the level and behavior of the Mexican population prior to the 2010 Population and Housing Census.

The third District Level Household Survey (DLHS-3) covered 720,000 households in 601 districts throughout all states except Nagaland. Survey instruments included household, ever-married women (ages 15-49), unmarried women (ages 15-24), village, and health facility questionnaires. The household questionnaire measured socioeconomic characteristics, while women's questionnaires focused on maternal and reproductive health and health knowledge. Village and health facility questionnaires include information on availability of health services and health infrastructure.

The second District Level Household Survey (DLHS-2), also known as the Reproductive and Child Health Survey, collected data from 620,000 househoulds in 593 districts. The DLHS-2 included five questionnaires: household, currently-married women (15-44), husband, village, and select measurements of health. The questionnaries focused on antenatal care, immunization services, extent of safe deliveries, family planning and contraceptive use, awareness of RTI/STIs, and use and satisfaction of government health services.

In 2006, the survey focused on obesity in children and cardiovascular disease in the general population. There was a boost sample for children ages 2-15.
