Summary

The Longitudinal Aging Study in India (LASI) pilot survey interivewed 1,600 individuals aged 45 and older and their spouses as preparation to design and implement a nationally representative LASI survey. The LASI pilot study took place in four states, two northern and two southern. In addition to collecting information through individual and household questionnaires, the LASI pilot also collected biomarker information through anthropometry, dried blood spots, and measurements of blood pressure, lung function, physical function, and vision.

The LASI pilot was designed to be comparable with other longitudinal studies on aging similar to the Health and Retirement Study in the United States, including the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA), Survey of Health, Ageing, and Retimrent in Europe (SHARE), the Mexican Health and Aging Study (MHAS), and others.

Summary

National health accounts (NHA) constitute a systematic monitoring of the resource flows in a country's health care system, helping to inform the evaluation of health care policy.

The 2006 NHA report published by the Ministry of Health (Burkina Faso) contains one full NHA table for the 2006 distribution of health expenditures of providers by health care functions, as well as high-level tables and analysis of sub-accounts relating to tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and malaria between 2003-2006. The report also contains other high-level tables and analysis on economic and health indicators.
