Summary 

The purpose of this survey was to gather information on fertility, contraceptive use, and other demographic factors related to population growth in Ecuador.

Data were collected through in-home in-person interviews in urban and rural areas. The interviews featured a questionnaire about the household and a questionnaire for women ages 15-49 years.
The household questionnaire asked about conditions in the home and member demographics. The individual questionnaire covered the topics of basic characteristics, fertility, maternal health, use of contraceptives, availability of contraceptives, and marital status.

The sample size was 7,800 households. Within those households, 8,719 women were individually interviewed.

Summary 

The Djibouti Family Health Survey 2002 was conducted by the Department of Statistics and Demographic Studies under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and in collaboration with the Pan Arab Project for Family Health (PAPFAM). The survey was completed by 4,440 households, 2,742 ever married women ages 15 to 54, and 511 never married adults ages 15 to 24.

The survey used four questionnaires covering the following topics: housing characteristics; health status; prevalence of chronic diseases; knowledge of contraception and sexually-transmitted diseases; reproductive health; child and maternal mortality; child immunization; and use of health services.

The report may be available through the library.

Summary 

Hong Kong participated in the World Fertility Survey with an associate status. The 1976 By-Census gathered data pertinent to the World Fertility Survey. Data were collected through interviews of married women ages 15-49, completing 1,451 questionnaires. The questionnaire covered the topics of sociodemographic information, mortality, fertility, and maternal history. Additional data was included to cover family planning information that was not collected through the By-Census. This consisted of family planning statistics collected by the Hong Kong Family Planning Association and the Medical and Health Department of the Hong Kong Government, and an additional survey on family planning knowledge, attitude, and practice that was carried out in 1977. The 1977 family planning survey interviewed 1,550 married women ages 15-49. Family planning information was only collected from individuals who were using government family planning services.

Summary 

This survey was conducted immediately after the third national census in order to investigate fertility and the impact of family planning programs. The survey sample population included 1,017,574 people. Of this sample, 310,485 women between the ages of 15 and 67 years completed interviews. Within the sample of women who completed interviews, 252,094 were in the 15 through 49 years age range. Due to the sample size, the survey is also referred to as the One Million Population Fertility Sampling Survey. The in-person interviews took place in 28 provinces and covered urban and rural areas. Taiwan and Tibet were excluded from this survey. The major themes of the in-person interviews included birth history, education, employment, living conditions, ethnicity, and contraceptive methods.
