The Global AIDS Response Progress Reporting (GARPR) system is overseen by the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), for data collection on WHO/UNICEF Health Sector Indicators.

UNAIDS was mandated by the UN General Assembly to monitor progress on the global AIDS response in the 2001 UN General Assembly Special Session on HIV and AIDS (UNGASS), with the mandate reaffirmed in 2011. The Global AIDS Response Progress Reporting (GARPR) system is overseen by the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for data collection on WHO/UNICEF Health Sector Indicators. GARPR collects and compiles data on HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support from countries all over the world. A registry of HIV indicators has been compiled starting in 2008, and annual progress reports on the response to AIDS published since 2006. The GARPR indicators (now available at the HIV Indicator Registry website), known until 2011 as the UNGASS indicators, are now reported on annually. Data on registry indicators are collected from countries and distributed via avenues such as the yearly GARPR country reports on 30 core indicators divided by 10 global targets; the WHO Global Health Observatory; and through UNAIDS AIDSInfo and the AIDSinfo Online Database. See also the series record for the GARPR country reports.
