The Colombia Multipurpose Survey emerged as a need of the Colombian government to obtain periodic socioeconomic information for the formulation, monitoring and evaluation of district policies. It combines elements of the Quality of Life surveys from 1991, 1993, 2003 and 2007 and the Survey of Payability in 2004 to cover household expenditures, labor market and living conditions.
