VIGITEL is a telephone survey concerning chronic diseases and risk factors in Brazil. The sample is drawn from the telephone systems in the 26 state capitals and Federal District.

The VIGITEL Survey was developed in 2006 by the Ministry of Health. It is a telephone survey used to provide an overview of risk behaviors for non-transmissible chronic diseases (DCNT) in the adult population of Brazil. Risk behavior include physical inactivity, low consumption of fruits and vegetables, smoking, and abusive consumption of alcoholic beverages. The survey is conducted annually.
