Summary

The 2012 Zimbabwe National Micronutrient Survey sampled 3,156 rural and urban households from December 19, 2012, to January of 2013. It surveyed children ages 0-5 months, 6-59 months, and 5-12 years, as well as women ages 15-49 years old, investigating nutrition status, feeding practices of infants and young children, urinary iodine concentration, obesity, vitamin A deficiency, cases of night blindness, and iron deficiency and anemia. The survey also incorporates the wealth and education levels of the respondents, their health literacy, and certain household characteristics such as access to improved water sources and toilet facilities.
