Summary

The 2003 Zambia Sexual Behavior Survey (ZSBS) was the 3rd ZSBS conducted in Zambia. The objective of the survey was to obtain national estimates for various indicators related to HIV, AIDS, and STD program monitoring.

Three questionnaires included one for communities, one for households, and one for individuals. The sample included 2,330 households. Males between the age of 15 and 59 years and females between the age of 15 and 49 years were interviewed. The sample size for males and females was 2,534 and 2,680 respectively. There was a 85% response rate for males and a 87% response rate for females.

The 2003 ZSBS used the same sampling frame as the 1998 and 2000 ZBSB; however, an additional 20 clusters were selected from the sampling frame in 2003.
