Summary

Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1971 Venezuela de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews on subjects of housing, household demographics, employment for those 15 and older, education, migration, and fertility for women 15 and older. The three enumeration forms used to collect data were a short form questionnaire, a long form questionnaire given to a sample of the population, and an individual questionnaire. The census day was February 11, 1971.

A 10% differentially weighted sample of households (1,158,527 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Dwellings and group quarters are not identified in the microdata. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
