Summary

The Uruguay Continuous Household Survey 2013 aimed to monitor the evolution of the labor market, household incomes, and the standard of living in the country during 2013. The sampling frame for the survey was the same used for the 2011 Census in Uruguay. Sampling units covered the whole national territory and consisted of 81 sampling strata based on socio-economic levels. Participating households were selected aleatorily from previously identified census blocks. For each household, an interview with a household member 18 years of age and older able to report on other members was conducted. The questionnaire focused on household conditions, household income including remittances, working conditions and benefits, and health care access. The questionnaire also collected information on the educational status of infants less than 2 years of age and children more than three 3 years of age. A total of 46.622 households participated in the survey. The response rate for the survey was 89.3%.
