Summary

The Demographic Yearbook is a collection of national demographic statistics, provided by national statistical authorities to the Statistics Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.

The tables in the Demographic Yearbook feature select demographic indicators, including size, distribution and trends in national populations, natality, fetal mortality, infant and maternal mortality, general mortality, nuptiality, and divorce. Data are shown by urban/rural residence, as available.

The 1980 Demographic Yearbook includes a special topic section on fertility and mortality statistics.
