Summary

Also known as Ukraina-96, the Ukraine Household Income and Expenditures Survey 1996 collected detailed data on income and consumption, along with basic demographic information, in households in Ukraine. Questionnaires for this panel survey (and those for Ukraina-95, this survey's predecessor) were based on the Living Standard Measurement Survey, a tool designed by the World Bank to assess poverty in (primarily) developing countries. The household questionnaire covers topics such as household composition and income, food consumption, living conditions, and assets ownership; the individual questionnaire covers additional demographic characteristics, occupations, alternative sources of income, and health. 2,322 households (75% of which participated in Ukraina-95) and 5,403 individuals were surveyed.
