UCDP Georeferenced Event Dataset, Version 5.0, 2016

The Georeferenced Event Dataset (GED) documents global acts of lethal violence between one group or organization against another group, organization, or civilian resulting in at least one death. The data covers 1989 to 2015 and includes precise location and date information as to when the violent event occurred. There are 128,264 events included in the dataset. Variables in this data related to deaths are estimates. Data on Syria are not included.

Only events found in the UCDP/PRIO Armed Conflict, the UCDP Non-State Conflict, or the UCDP One-Sided Violence datasets are included in the UCDP GED. Additional UCDP data can be found here.
