In addition to a questionnaire, participants provided demographic information, a medical history, and were measured for weight, height, blood pressure, urine volume, and body mass index. Participants were excluded based on pregnancy, diuretic usage, fasting for 24-hours prior to eligibility interview, existing hypertension diagnosis, and use of antihypertensive medication; a total of 816 participants were ultimately part of the core study population.
