Summary 

The Turkey Prevalence, Awareness, Treatment and Control of Hypertension (PatenT) Study was an epidemiological survey to determine the distribution of blood pressure and the prevalence and treatment of hypertension. The survey used a two-stage stratified sampling technique to obtain a sample of the adult population over 18 years of age. Physicians interviewed 4,992 participants in their homes. Blood pressure measurements were taken at the beginning, middle, and end of the interview.
