Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1970 Thailand de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews on the subjects of housing, household demographics, employment, education, disability, and fertility for women 11 and older. Long form, short form, and collective housing questionnaires were used to collect the data. The census day was April 1, 1970, and fieldwork continued until April 29. A 2% differentially weighted sample of households from the census (772,169 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Dwellings and vacant units are not identified in the microdata. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
