The National Nutrition Survey conducted in 2018 was the second survey of its kind carried out in Tanzania. The survey collected data on feeding practices, handwashing and hygiene, prevalence of iodized salt, and de-worming efforts. The nutritional status of children ages 0 to 59 months and women ages 15 to 49 years was also assessed. The survey adopted the Standardized Monitoring and Assessment of Relief and Transitions (SMART) methodology to collect data.

Data were collected from 15,212 children under 5 years of age and 8,038 women age 15-49 were canvassed from 915 clusters of households.
