Summary

The 2006 Integrated Labor Force Survey (ILFS) was a follow up to the similiar 2000-2001 survey. For the first time, a time-use module was included in the ILFS. Information on both household and individual characteristics was collected. The survey includes the formal and informal labor sector.

A three-stage sampling technique was used. A total of 16,445 households and 72,442 individuals were enumerated, giving a response rate of 88.8%. The survey was conducted in mainland Tanzania only. All individuals over the age of 5 years living in private households were eligible, and the survey excluded institutionalized populations and members of diplomatic households.
