Summary 

The South Africa National Food Consumption Survey - Fortification Baseline conducted in 2005 assessed the anthropometric and micronutrient status of children ages 1-9 years and women of reproductive ages 16-35 years. The survey aimed to inform the development of nutrition education and promotion. Data were collected through four questionnaires: a screening tool, a sociodemographic questionnaire, a knowledge, attitude, and behavior questionnaire, a food procurement and household food inventory questionnaire, and a hungar scale questionnaire. Anthropometric measurements were also recorded for all partcipants.
