Summary

The Sierra Leone Nutrition Survey conducted in 2017 aimed to collect information on the nutritional status of children ages 6-59 months and women ages 15-49 years, including the prevalence of malnutrition and stunting. The 2017 survey used SMART (Standardized Monitoring and Assessment in Relief and Transition) methodology to collect high quality anthropometry data.

The survey also looked at the major contextual factors contributing to under nutrition such as infant and young child feeding practices; food security indicators and water, sanitation and hygiene indicators. Data for 10,175 children under 5 and 9,527 women were collected from 9,469 households.
