Summary 

The objective of the Epidemiological Survey of Mental Health in the Rural Mountains is to identify the main mental health problems (depression, anxiety disorders, addictions and other mental health issues) in that area, the social conditions of people who suffer from them, and access to health services. The survey covers the rural areas surrounding the city of Iquitos and Pucallpa. The survey interviewed individuals over 12 years in rural population centers that had between 50-400 homes. 2,396 homes were interviewed. The interviews included 2,062 partnered women; 2,331 adults; 448 aged adults; 1,018 adolescents.
