Summary

This Papua New Guinea demographic and health survey is not part of the Macro DHS series; however, the topics covered are similar to those surveys. The report for the survey includes tabulations for water supply, contraceptives, sexual behavior, education, HIV literacy, and population. The survey used three questionnaires: one for women ages 15-50, one for men ages 15-50, and one for the household. The survey used an original sample of 10,004 households based on the 2000 census sampling frame; from the originally selected households, 9,017 households, 10,353 women and 10,077 men were successfully interviewed.

The 2006-2007 DHS was the second DHS conducted in Papua New Guinea; the first was conducted in 1996.
