Summary 

This is the second annual report on child morbidity and mortality from the Child Health Advisory Committee of Papua New Guinea's Department of Health. The report contains number of hospital admissions, number of hospital deaths, and case fatality rates in children for a select group of conditions. In 2011, there were 20,582 admissions and 1,545 deaths recorded. The main data source is the Paediatric Hospital Reporting System (PHR).
