Summary 

The 1991 Pakistan Demographic Survey covered all urban and rural areas of all provinces of the country. Approximately 4% of the population was excluded from the survey as they were located in areas that included Federally Administered Tribal Areas; military areas; the districts of Kohistan, Chitral, and Malakand; and certain protected areas.

A total sample of 24,000 households was used.
