The purpose of this survey was to gather information on fertility and influencing factors, to inform fertility statistics and future population and family planning policy. This was the first fertility survey conducted in Norway. The data were collected with three questionnaires: one to gather general information from all participants, one specific to married and cohabitating women, and one specific to women not living with partners. Interviews were conducted with 4,137 women. The questionnaires covered marital status, education, employment, fertility, contraceptive use, and family planning.
