It is a population-based registry which records data for nearly all malignant tumors diagnosed in New Zealand. Data for squamous and basal cell skin cancers are not collected. The NZCR collects both demographic data related to the individual with the tumor, and clinical information about the tumor including date of diagnosis, site of primary cancer, morphology, grade, and staging information. Cancer publications and provisional datasets from the NZCR are available from the website of New Zealand's Ministry of Health, and customized datasets or reports are available on request.
