The template survey includes ten core and 4 optional modules. Topics include household characteristics, partnerships, fertility, and use of contraception. Each country developed a unique questionnaire derived from the standardized template. Sampling and data collection varied across the participating countries. In the Netherlands, from a sample of 19,995 addresses, a total of 5,599 were interviewed. There were up to three respondents for each household, for a total of 8,221 individual interviews (4,516 women and 3,705 men ages 18-42). The FFS was the fifth Fertility survey in a series conducted by Statistics Netherlands that began in 1974. Report includes tabulated data from other sources for various topics not covered in this survey.
