Summary

The Global Enteric Multicenter Study (GEMS-1) was a multi-country case-control study of diarrheal disease in children under 5 years of age. Stool samples were collected from all participants at the enrollment exam. This dataset contains the results from the University of Virginia's re-analysis of the stool samples using qPCR protocol, as opposed to the diagnostic methodology used to analyze the samples in the original GEMS protocol.
