Summary

The Welfare Monitoring Survey II is the second such survey to have been conducted in Kenya. As a household survey, it captures household characteristics and employment, education, fertility, household economic issues, agriculture, consumption and expenditure patterns, and amenities. Additionally, the Fifth Child Nutrition Survey 1994 was incorporated into the Welfare Monitoring Survey II as a module, collecting survival and nutrition data on children aged 6 to 60 months old. It uses the National Sample Survey and Evaluation Programme (NASSEP) III sampling frame, and samples 10,860 households.
