Behavioral surveillance surveys (BSS) are cross-sectional surveys that provide information on the HIV/AIDS-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of vulnerable sub-populations.

With Mombasa as the survey site, this BSS focused on the specific sub-populations of commercial sex workers, van drivers and driver assistants, and youth (ages 15-19 in-school and out of school; unemployed females 15-19 years old; unemployed or part-time males 20-24 years old).
