Summary

The purpose of this survey was to gather data to determine the impact of national programs on nutrition, population health, and education. This survey also sought to collect more information on the labor force. The 1988 round was the first time this survey was conducted in Jamaica.

The data were collected through multiple in-person interviews in the home. The interviewers first approached households with the household questionnaire. Then, approximately one month later, a subset of these households participated in a second interview on employment. This second survey is also known as the Labor Force Survey (LFS).

The sample size for this survey was 1,909 households.
