Since 1992, the survey has been divided into a core that covers basic socioeconomic characteristics of households and household members, and modules that cover special topics such as consumption, household income, household welfare, tourism, crime, nutrition, housing, etc. Starting in 2003, SUSENAS added a panel segment to the survey. In 1979, surveys were conducted in all regions (except East Timor) in February and September, covering 36,000 households. Topics included fertility, labor force, and food consumption. 9,000 households were surveyed on handicraft, cottage industry, and trade. Data have not been released, and may be acquired through Statistics Indonesia.
