The 51st Round (July 1994 to June 1995) included surveys of household consumer expenditure and the unorganized manufacturing sector. Sample sizes were as follows: 32,242 rural and 20,937 urban households for the consumer expenditure survey and about 120,000 enterprises for the manufacturing survey. The surveys were representative at national and state levels, but select areas were excluded due to geographic remoteness.
