Summary 

The National Sample Survey (NSS) is a national socioeconomic survey conducted in annual rounds with a cycle of rotating topics. The purpose of the 42nd round of the National Sample Survey was to develop indicators on persons ages 60 and older; utilzation of medical services; maternity, child care, family planning and utilization of the public distribution system; and participation in education.
