Summary

The National Population Health Survey (OLEF) collects data on the socioeconomic and behavioral health characteristics of the adult population in Hungary. Topics include respondents' quality of life, perceived health status, social support, medical conditions, disabilities, health behavior and risk factors, individual and household burden of disease, use of health care services, medication use, and eating habits. The survey was administered to 5,072 participants who were randomly selected from a nationally representative sample.

This survey follows a National Population Health Survey administered in 2000, and uses the same questionnaire except to incorporate revised international standards for health consciousness, smoking, alcohol use, and the physical activity measures from the 2003 WHO World Health Survey.
