Summary

The Survey of Health, Aging and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) is a multi-country longitudinal study of aging in Europe. The first round took place primarily between February and October 2004, with some data collection in Greece, France, and Belgium through July 2005, and data collection in Israel from October 2005 to July 2006. Wave 1 included a main questionnaire that included 20 modules on health status and behaviors, self-reported height and weight, mental health, economic status, and social support. Data were collected through face-to-face, computer-aided personal interviews, and a self-administered paper and pencil questionnaire.

Further information on SHARE survey methodology and usage is available on the SHARE website.
