It presents expenditure according to source, including government, statutory health insurance, statutory public pensions, accident insurance, private health insurance, employers, and households and organizations in the private sector. The numbers are the results of a secondary statistical accounting system that summarizes approximately 35 different data sources from the health care system to determine health expenditure. An appendix includes an explanation of the system of health expenditure accounting. Years covered are 1995, 2000, and 2005-2010, with the the most detailed tables pertaining to 2010.
