Germany Disease Expenses 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008

This report presents the results of a secondary statistical accounting system to estimate the cost of diseases in 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2008. Data sources include hospital, insurance, and pharmaceutical statistics. Tables show cost per year by disease and 15-20-year age groups, disease and sex, and disease and facility type. Costs are given for 47 ICD-10-based groups, encompassing about 140 individual conditions. Numbers are also given for lost employment years due to inability to work, disability, and premature death. For tabulations on lost years of employment, 15-64 years old is considered the working age of the population.
