Summary

The 2015-2016 Ethiopia Welfare Monitoring Survey (WMS) collected data on population characteristics, education, health, child care, breast feeding, living standards, accessibility, and household assets. All urban and rural areas of the country, including the sedentary and pastoralist areas of Somali and Afar regions, were covered. A two-stage stratified cluster sampling design was used. The 2007 Population and Housing Census data was used as a frame to select clusters and a new households list, taken at the beginning of the survey, was used as a frame to select sample households. A total of 2,106 enumeration areas and 30,240 households were selected for the survey.
