Summary

The 2009 Survey of Young People in Egypt is a nationally representative household survey covering all governorates in Egypt, including the five Frontier governorates and an ‘a priori’ inclusion of slum areas within the urban sample. Researchers spoke with a nationally representative sample of about 15,000 young people between the age of 10 and 29 from 11,000 households. Topics covered in SYPE include civic and political participation, education, employment, family composition, health, and migration. The 2009 report can be downloaded from the Population Council.
