The survey was a prospective, multistage cluster sample design study, conducted over a 9 month period (March to December 2009). All members of households selected according to the sample strategy were tested, which amounted to a total of 5,762 subjects. Testing was carried out in hospital facilities across the country including: audiometry/TEAOEs and otological examination.
