Summary 

The purpose of the survey, conducted in March and April of 2009, was to update the micronutrient indicators in planning and implementing food fortification interventions. 3,300 households were selected for the sample size which were expected to have information for approximately 800 children ages 6 to 59 months and 1,020 women ages 15 to 49. Interviews were conducted in person at the home and at the store where households bought their bread.

Data were collected on sociodemographic information, household data and location, fortified food purchase and consumption, nutritional supplementation, smoking habits in women, and brand of flour purchased from bakeries.
