The data were collected with an audio assisted self-interviewing (CASI) method administered in schools to 9th grade students. There were 3,976 participants. The questionnaires were self-completed, and covered the topics of family and social relationships, school, physical and mental health, sexual behavior, violence, and sexual abuse. This survey differed from the survey done in 2002 by the inclusion of questions regarding sexual experience with peers, sexual experience before age 15, antisocial behavior, sexual abuse that was initiated on the internet, and more extensive questions about relationship with parents. This survey included three mental health measurement instruments: Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), Christchurch Scale, and Modified Hopkins Symptom Checklist-25 (HSCL).
