Summary 

This baseline survey measures men's and women's knowledge of reproductive health and family planning and the availability of related services in China. Surveyors interviewed 8,400 women ages 15-49 (married and not married) and 4,365 husbands in 30 counties. The survey also interviewed service providers and collected information about health facilities. A report on the survey contains tables on knowledge and use of contraceptives, awareness of sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy outcomes, and types of facilities and offered family planning and health services.
