China National Population Census 1990 - IPUMS

Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1990 census in China was the fourth national census conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics. The de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews on the subjects of family size and composition, fertility, household deaths, subnational migration, and employment and occupation for those over 15 years of age. The census day was July 1, 1990. A 1% sample of households from the census (11,835,947 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota.
